Welcome to the Bread Bible Alpha Bakers

Ciabatta
Out of our love for baking bread, some of the Alpha Baker's who are participating in the Bake Along for Rose Levy Beranbaum's new book The Baking Bible decided to do another Bake Along for Rose's epic bread book, The Bread Bible. The book has been out for several years but it's my go to book when baking bread plus it's well written and easy to understand.

We will be doing a recipe once a month. Since The Baking Bible Bake Along is every week, we didn't want to put any pressure on us bakers. Every month, we will post on our blogs how things went for each recipe along with pictures. The recipes will not be posted, mainly because most of the recipes in the book are 3 to 4 pages long or more. There are a lot of recipes in the book so it might take us a while to get through it but good bread is guaranteed once a month.

Since our fearless leader of the Baking Bible Bake Along, Marie has already baked all the recipes, we will follow her blog Breadbasketcase as a template and schedule. Her first selection was the Rosemary Focaccia. It wasn't without its challenges but a good one to start with, none the less.

I've also included a link to the corrections that Rose made in the book. It can be found in the side bar.

If you would like to have your own copy of this fantastic book, get The Bread Bible here at Amazon.

  4. Thanks Rose! I kind of wish we were doing recipes more than once a month but hopefully that will change in the near future. Bread is life!

  5. Once everyone gets the bug there may be requests to do 2 a month! but i think 1 a month is a realistic starting point.

My blog posting directing people to the new presence on my blog home page will go live tomorrow morning at 9:30 EST.
